10 Best Hotels Near Gatwick Airport, By Terminal

The Sofitel hotel at Gatwick Airport North Terminal

By Sunny

An overnight near Gatwick is usually a means to an end: an early flight, a late arrival, or a stop between journeys. The right hotel depends on which terminal you fly from, whether you keep the car, and how much of the night you actually have. This list is ordered by walking distance from the terminals first, then the short-drive options that trade convenience for price and space.

At the terminals

Sofitel London Gatwick. Directly connected to the North Terminal by a covered walkway, which makes it the default for early departures from North. Full-service hotel, 24-hour room service, restaurant and bar. You roll your luggage indoors without going outside. Expect terminal-adjacent pricing.

Premier Inn Gatwick Airport South. A short walk from the South Terminal, with its own restaurant. The reliable budget pick: consistent rooms, honest prices, and no shuttle to factor into a 5am start.

YOTELAIR Gatwick. Inside the South Terminal, a few minutes from international arrivals. Cabin-style rooms with the essentials done well: blackout, quiet, a good shower. Suited to short overnight stays where you land late and leave early and want zero transfers. Book the smallest cabin; you will only sleep in it.

Short drive from the airport

These suit travellers with a hire car who do not want terminal prices.

Crowne Plaza Gatwick (about 12 minutes). Four-star comfort at Langley Drive, with parking packages that often beat the on-airport car parks for park-and-fly deals.

Travelodge Crawley (about 14 minutes). The cheapest dependable bed near the airport, close to the M23 for a morning dash or a Brighton day trip.

Langshott Manor (about 16 minutes). A 16th-century manor house on a country lane near Horley, with a well-regarded restaurant. The pick for turning a stopover into something better than functional. Check parking arrangements when booking.

Country house options

Alexander House (about 15 minutes, near Turners Hill). Spa hotel on 120 acres, with rooms a long way from airport-hotel standard. Suits a final night of a holiday more than a six-hour layover.

Gravetye Manor (about 20 minutes, East Grinstead). A country house in a thousand acres, and the most secluded option on this list. Book dinner: the restaurant carries the reputation.

Guest houses in Horley

Horley, one train stop or a five-minute drive from the airport, holds several family-run guest houses at B&B prices. The Corner House Hotel on Massetts Road is the long-standing one, a short walk from Horley’s restaurants. The eponymous High Street has most of the eating options.

Which one, quickly

Flying from North before 8am: Sofitel, no debate. Flying from South early: Premier Inn South or YOTELAIR. Arriving late and leaving mid-morning: Crowne Plaza or Travelodge, using a hire car. Making a night of it: Langshott Manor or Gravetye Manor.

If the hotel is a stop on a longer trip, our Gatwick car hire page compares live rates, the things to do near Gatwick post fills a spare day, and the restaurants guide covers dinner. The car rental guide handles the deposit and insurance questions.
